Metal railings for Wicksteed Park lakeside

wicksteed park, Kettering

Visitors to Wicksteed Park will be much safer walking around the footpaths and bridges of Wicksteed Park thanks to the installation of new metal railings supplied by Alpha Rail.

Wicksteed Park is an amusement park located in Northamptonshire which was first founded in 1921 by Charles Wicksteed and now owned by the Wicksteed Trust, a registered charity set up by Charles Wicksteed in 1916 and run by Wicksteed Park Ltd.

The park is divided into four themed areas: a children’s playground which is completely free to use; a fairground area, a large rides area and the lakeside which features rides themed around water, such as rowing boats and the infamous ‘Waterchute’.

The £2m project to restore the lakeside area was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project included the installation of new walkways, improved ecology in the lake and features including an amphitheatre and new beaches.

Alpha Rail has supplied 150m of flat top railings which feature an upright post with decorative ball for areas along the walk ways, across bridges and to cordon off areas of the boating lake.
