Metal railings have been added to Glinton Avenue, Blackwell as part of the B@Home development programme.
The B@Home programme, aims to deliver 150 high quality, energy efficient homes over a four-year period. The development is being constructed through a partnership between Bolsover District Council and Robert Woodhead Ltd. The scheme, which was procured through the Efficiency East Midlands (EEM) initiative, will cover 5 sites across the Bolsover district and provide social and economic benefits to the community through the creation of working opportunities for local residents and businesses.
Built on the derelict site of the former Blackwell Hotel, Glinton Avenue, is one of the sites agreed for the initiative. Located in the Derbyshire village of Blackwell, the newly built development includes six dwellings consisting of five 2 bedroom houses and a 2-bedroom bungalow.
Contracted by Robert Woodhead Limited, Alpha Rail supplied ball top metal railings which were installed as perimeter fencing at the front garden of each property. The railings provided a clear boundary between the public pedestrian footpath and the front entrance of each home.
In total, 64 linear metres of 900mm high, ball top metal railings and three single leaf gates were installed. To prevent rust and protect against elements such as rain and frost all metalwork was galvanized and polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005.
Commenting on behalf of Robert Woodhead, Alan Lloyd said “The demand for affordable housing is at an all-time high which means working to strict time deadlines to ensure they complete on time. It was therefore imperative to work with sub-contractors like Alpha Rail who are able to work fast, efficiently to manufacture and deliver high quality products.”
Phil Ball, Sales Director at Alpha Rail added “Our ability to manufacture metal railings fast and efficiently was showcased throughout this project. I’m very proud that we were able to work on this B@Home development and supply high quality products that have created the right aesthetic look for this new housing estate.”
