Estate fencing creates traditional feel to Boston housing development

Estate fencing creates traditional feel to Boston housing development

Estate fencing manufactured by Alpha Rail has been installed at the site of a new residential housing estate in Boston. The area known as “The Quadrant” is situated 15 minutes away from Boston in the historic village of Wyberton.

The new development is being built by Lincolnshire house builder Chestnut Homes and will comprise of 500 new residential properties, with a mix of two to five bedroom properties. The homes at The Quadrant offer the perfect balance between old and new. The architecture of the older part of the village has been reflected in the exteriors of the new homes but behind the traditional exteriors, flexible living space has been generated.

Alpha Rail was appointed to manufacture, supply and install estate fencing as well as other metalwork products in order to maintain a traditional feel to the exterior of the properties. Over 20 linear metres of welded unit panel metal estate fencing was installed to provide a traditional looking external perimeter boundary to a number of the newly built properties.

Alpha Rail was also contracted to manufacture and install 63 linear metres of 900mm high decorative flat top metal railings to other properties within the development. In addition to the installation of metal railings, four properties also feature 900mm high single leaf gates. Bespoke metal handrails have also been installed to add safe walkways to properties that have been built on a gradient.

Commenting on the project on behalf of the development, a spokesperson said, “The Quadrant is a high-profile development which locals have known about for some time now. A key design specification was to create traditional looking properties and therefore as part of the design process we thought installing metal railings would be more visually appealing to buyers. Alpha Rail did a brilliant job completing the install especially with the timescales given. The metal railings installed have helped us demonstrate our vision of creating housing that offers a perfect balance between old and new architecture. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alpha Rail and look forward to working with them on future projects.”

Phil Ball, Sales Director at Alpha Rail, added “Alpha Rail has a great reputation for installing metal railings on housing development projects right across the UK. This particular project demonstrated our versatility in being able to manufacture a number of bespoke metalwork products that have helped meet the contractors design specifications.”

The newly created residential area has been built to cater for those looking to take their first steps on the housing ladder, growing families and families who may be looking to downsize. With this is in mind “The Quadrant” will also feature shopping and restaurant facilities, a new hotel, as well as a new community football stadium for Boston United FC which has been built close to the A16.
