Faversham Recreation Ground opened in the late 1800s, and since then has been the main hub for sports and leisure to the town. A recent project has been approved to move forward that will refurbish the park and bring it right up to date for 2020.
The £1.4 million refurbishment, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, will see improvements throughout the park including a remodelled pavilion, improved play areas for children and car park improvements.
Canterbury based contractor Coombs has appointed Alpha Rail to supply and install over 600 linear metres of Albany Railings which will secure the park perimeter and refresh the park’s appearance in line with the rest of the refurbishment works. The Albany Railings, which is part of the Alpha Rail vertical bar railings range, was specified by the landscape architect Wynne-Williams Associates.
Commenting on the project, Alpha Rail Sales Director Phil Ball commented: “Public parks are something that we always enjoy working on as we believe that green spaces throughout the country should be preserved and enjoyed by all. Alpha Rail has been involved in countless park restorations and we are proud to add Faversham Recreation Ground to our portfolio of projects.”
