Meadow Street Gardens, based in Atherstone, is currently undergoing a redevelopment that will see the site transform into an ‘outdoor museum’ that will recognise the hatting history of the town.
Atherstone was home to many hatting factories which were notably successful in World War II as they also made military hats. The redevelopment of Meadow Street Gardens will be known as Hatters Celebration Garden.
Alpha Rail was contacted by North Warwickshire Borough Council for design assistance on a 3 metre wide, 2.2 metre high bespoke decorative archway to the main entrance of the park. Our technicians prepared drawings of three different hats and six different font options, and NWBC presented these options to the community to let them choose their favourite combination.
