Last year, you may have seen an article where Alpha Rail supplied pedestrian guardrail panels to an Airbus site in North Wales, a facility used for the assembly of wings for commercial aircraft.
A new project at the Filton site in Bristol has seen the supply and installation of more pedestrian guardrail to the same specification of the previous project.
The Filton production site is responsible for the design, engineering and support for Airbus wings, fuel systems and integration of landing gears, along with aerodynamics research and development. Filton is also the birthplace of Concorde, which in 2003 made its final flight there to be permanently kept as the centrepiece of Aerospace Bristol Museum.
Working with Steve Walker Fencing Contractors Ltd, who installed the metalwork, Alpha Rail manufactured and supplied 150 linear metres of M1 pedestrian guardrail. These were galvanised as standard to BS EN ISO 1461, followed by a polyester powder coated finish in blue to match the Airbus site standard colours.
Commenting on the project, Steve Walker said: “As we had previously worked with Alpha Rail on another Airbus project, we were happy to use their products again at the facility in Bristol. Airbus are very pleased with the results and we look forward to working with Alpha Rail again in the future.”
