Following funding from developers, a £400,000 project to improve the facilities at Popley Community Park is underway. The funding gives the park an opportunity to be brought up to date with some new play equipment and features.
In 2019, residents were asked what they would like to see as part of the improvement project, which included a play area for both younger children and teens, new seating, perimeter fencing and an outdoor gym. The improvements will be done in phases, starting with the replacement of fencing.
Alpha Rail was appointed by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to remove the existing chain link fencing and install 270 metres of 1500mm high standard vertical bar railings with 20mm diameter infill bars. Materials were galvanised as standard and polyester powder coated in RAL 5000 Violet Blue.
Phil Ball, Sales Director at Alpha Rail commented: “We are firm supporters of the preservation and maintenance of our public parks and spaces. Popley Community Park is undergoing an exciting improvement project that will allow it to be enjoyed by all in the coming years.”
