A garden area between two blocks of apartments known as Branston and Rollitt in Islington, North London required landscape work to improve the both the security and aesthetics of the area for local residents.
Located close to the Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal Football Club the area often became busy on weekends and evenings and residents were often disturbed by supporters entering the gardens.
Working on behalf of Islington Council, Groundwork North London appointed Alpha Rail to manufacture 20 metres of 2.2m high railings and five sets of decorative gates to provide greater privacy and security to the garden area.
To add interest and appeal, Groundwork North London created an eye catching decorative design depicting a climbing shrub that they wanted to incorporate in to the railings. Alpha Rail used its design-assist services to create a technical specification from the original brief, and were able to provide bespoke metalwork to ensure the shrub design featured in-between a number of the railings.
The railings and gates with a high quality powder coated finish to provide weatherproofing and advanced performance. Alpha Rail worked closely with contractor Hickman Brothers to ensure a full included site survey was conducted the installation was completed within the projects strict deadline.
