Alpha Rail have recently worked on a project at St Nicholas Gardens, Scarborough. Scarborough is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the North Yorkshire coast and is renowned for its attractive and well maintained parks and gardens.
Scarborough Borough Council were refurbishing St Nicholas Gardens and required bespoke high quality galvanized mild steel railings. The scheme was part-funded by Yorkshire Forward, which is currently investing heavily in the renaissance of Scarborough.
Alpha Rail supplied and installed 300m of its popular range of Westminster vertical bar railings that were powder coated using the Duplex system. This is a specialist coating developed for use in areas susceptible to severe erosion, such as coastal locations. The discreet black finish is perfectly in keeping with the style of the walkways and enhances the overall look and feel of these attractive gardens.
St Nicholas Gardens are one of the most popular green open spaces in Scarborough and we were chosen again because we had previously supplied railings to some adjacent areas five years ago. The new railings complement the existing styles and are sufficiently robust to the elements to ensure they retain their high performance and attractive look and feel for years to come.”
We have an excellent reputation for completing many installations on behalf of local authorities. This includes a number of prestigious projects, such as Battersea Park in Wandsworth (winner of a Civic Trust Award), Roundhay Park in Leeds and Handsworth Park in Birmingham.
"We are delighted with the new railings, which were chosen for their robust, vandal resistant properties and longevity. The design of the railings complements the style of the parks and gardens in this area and we have received many positive comments already from local residents and tourists on the improvements"- Andy Crossley, Engineer, Scarborough Borough Council
