Having opened in September 2008, The Round House Community Primary School is a modern £3 million primary school, funded by Cambridge County Council. Catering for children between the ages of 4 and 11, the school has provision for 210 pupils from foundation stage to year six, and has the resources to cater for a maximum of 410 pupils as more applications for enrolment are received over the coming years.
The school is located on a former Iron Age settlement, which is now part of the Love Farm Development site. Within easy walking distance of the local railway station, adjacent to St. Neots Town football club; and next to an often busy main road.
The school has established an ethos of ‘Every Child Matters’ and a cornerstone of this mantra is to ensure the safety of each child. It therefore required prominent gates and railings as a clear indication that pupils will be well protected within the school boundary.
Alpha Rail were appointed to help fulfill this ethos by manufacturing and installing a 140m long railing system which has provided a high level of safety for the children, made them feel more comfortable in their surroundings and to able focus fully on the educational curriculum.
The 1.8m high, black powder coated railings, provide the necessary safety measures and also include bespoke decorative features, which add an aesthetic quality to the design that subtly disguises its robust and functional purpose
"The school will be a focal point for the community of St. Neots and as such we were delighted to have been commissioned to build the school. When considering who to appoint to supply the perimeter fencing we were fully confident Alpha Rail had the track record and necessary experience to manufacture a safe and secure railing system that would help create a protected learning environment we all desired."- Alan Moule, Contracts Manager, Morgan Ashurst
