Opened in 1984, Stile Cop Cemetery spans an area of approximately 4 hectares with approximately 1.8 hectares available for future expansion. The cemetery is situated one mile outside of Rugeley town centre and is one of three cemeteries and six churchyards that serve the local community.
Over the last two years the cemetery has received an investment of £295,000 for extension works. As well as new metal gates, the improvements have included widening the existing entrance to enable two-way traffic, additional access roads and paths to service the new burial areas, including installing water points, a new site compound and storage area and finally additional car parking and re-surfacing of the original car park.
The landscape architects involved on the project were Julie Wheatley and Peter Scholes from Cannock Chase District Council. Alpha Rail was appointed by specialist landscaping and civil engineering company, Jack Moody LCE Limited to manufacture and supply double leaf entrance gates to the architect’s specification.
Alpha Rail was appointed because of our reputation for manufacturing quality gates with ornate details which are easy to maintain and will still look “as new” many years later.
"Feedback from visitors using the new entrance has been really positive. We have used Alpha Rail on a number of projects in the past because we know we can trust their products to meet our high standards of quality and finish. They are meticulous in their design and manufacturing processes which means a flawless fit. This builds confidence right along the supply chain and helps projects run smoothly and on time."- Robbie Seagrove, Quantity Surveyor, Jack Moody LCE Limited
