Based in Tasburgh, Norfolk, Tas Valley Preschool and Playgroup originally only had a small area surrounded by wooden fence. The ground within this fence was of grass and in some circumstances not suitable for the small children, as it was often made unsafe by wet weather. The preschool set about deciding how to approach this issue and enable the children to play outside in safe conditions at all times.
The solution was to pave over the existing area and extend it, so that there was still a grass area for digging and planting, followed by the installation of bow top metal railings to secure the area. This was all going to be made possible by submitting a grant funding application to their local authority, Norfolk County Council. As part of the application process, Tas Valley Preschool had to source three different quotes for the metal railings.
In total, Alpha Rail supplied 22 linear metres of Playspec bow top, which was delivered directly to the landscaper on site. The metalwork was galvanised as standard followed by a polyester powder coated finish in RAL 6005 moss green to complement the existing fencing on site. The anti-trap features of the Playspec bow top means that the children will be able to play outside safely with no risk present of becoming trapped between the bars.
