Alpha Rail has recently completed the installation of gothic style metal railings at a newly opened Special Education Needs (SEN) school in London.
To provide a new school perimeter boundary, Alpha Rail was appointed by the main contractor Robyland Ltd, having been specified by AD Architects on the back of some metal railings we had installed on a similar project at Caludon Castle.
In order to retain the aesthetics of the local surrounding and in keeping with the adjoining church, AD Architects proposed the installation of Gothic style metal railings produced by Alpha Rail.
In total, 30 meters of gothic style metal railings were manufactured. The railings were installed rooted into concrete foundations to ensure total stability. Manufacturing took place in three stages with the upper design resembling gothic features and lower and middle features incorporating a more vertical bar design, finished with a fleur-de-lis style finial.
It was also agreed that Alpha Rail would manufacture six 1800mm high single and double leaf gates and install them at specific locations around the perimeter to enable secure access in and out of the school for pupils and staff.
All the metalwork manufactured by Alpha Rail was supplied galvanized and polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005.
"We have been delighted with how Alpha Rail grasped the design concept we wanted. They were extremely helpful in the guidance they gave us in order to bring our vision to life."- Paul Wilkinson, Director at AD Architects
